Seal Assembly Modular Components

Latch Sub

Used as the top sub of a Pinnacle Latch Seal Assembly when it is beneficial to anchor the Seal Assembly to the Seal Bore Packer. The Latch Seal Assembly will latch into the packer when weight is set on the Packer and will release with tension and right hand rotation.

Locator Sub

Used as the top sub of a Pinnacle Locator Seal Assembly when it is not necessary or beneficial to anchor the Seal Assembly to the Packer. The Locator will land on top of the packer and will release with a straight pull of the tubing string.

Spacer Seal Unit

Used primarily to add seal units and length to Locator Seal Assemblies. Spacer Seal Units are used to ensure one full set of seals remain in the seal bore at all times when several of these units are run together.

Single Seal Unit

Used as the lower seal unit below a spacer tube in an extended Locator Seal Assembly or when extra Seal Units are needed. The length of the Spacer Seal Units ensure two sets of seals remain in the packer seal bore when several of these units are run together.

Double Seal Unit

Usually used with a latch sub to create a Latch Double Seal Assembly. Both sets of seals will remain in the seal bore while the Seal Assembly is latched.

Tubing Seal Nipple

Used as an integral part of the tubing string This configuration is mainly used in multiple Seal Bore Packer completions in which the seal nipple is spaced out for use as the lower Seal Assembly(s). Normally several Tubing Seal Nipples ar run in tandem to ensure one set of seals remain in the packer seal bore.

Seal Spacer Tube

Used to space out seal units when long seal assemblies are needed. Available in any length up to 6 m (20 ft).

Mule Shoe

Used as the bottom cap of most types of Seal Assemblies. The Mule Shoe design helps to orientate the Seal Assembly for easy engagement into the seal bore of the packer. Recommended for use in all well conditions including deviated or horizontal wellbores.

Production Tube

Similar in design to the mule shoe but much longer. Usually used to expend a Knock Out Plug.

Tubing Adapters

Used to connect the bottom of a Seal Assembly to tubing. Available with most API and Premium tubing connections. Tubing size and selection is governed by packer seal bore size.
