Blast Joints/Flow Couplings

Description

Blast Joints are used to protect the tubing string from the abrasive action of flowing gas or fluids when positioned opposite the perforations. Blast Joints may also be used directly below the well head to protect the tubing string from the abrasion of doing a hydraulic fracturing operation down the annulus. Flow Couplings are used to protect the tubing string from the turbulent abrasive action of flowing gas or fluids due to changes in the inner diameter of the tubing string. Blast Joints and Flow Couplings are made from high quality steel treated to between 28 & 36 Rc hardness to insure maximum abrasion resistance and strength. For H2S service, the Blast Joint or Flow Coupling is available heat treated between 18 & 22 Rc hardness as per NACE specification MR-01-75. Other materials are available on advance order if required. Full tubing I.D. is maintained through the Blast Joint or Flow Coupling with the O.D. the same as tubing couplings. As standard Blast Joints and Flow Couplings have API EUE tubing connections, but can be cut with virtually any thread connection required.
